November Burns

Drops free falling
slanted through the stratosphere
converging on my skin
making November burn

It tastes sweet
like the last day of Summer
and the sunshine fading into fists of smoke
there’s silver
linings and rays born out of vapor

The ground turns dark gray
sparkling
tears of redemption
and I can feel the absolution
making November burn.
